After much discussion, Bob felt we should present a motion at our next Senate meeting. (please see attached notes)

PROPOSED MOTION

Whereas the role of staff communication and input to decision-making has recently been an issue as illustrated by

·     the recent Community Climate Survey

·     impending changes in VQI and the Enhancement Teams

·     a Senate sub-committee studying increasing staff representation on the Senate and, whereas, co-ordination of these efforts is in the best interest of staff and the University, therefore, we request Father President to form an Ad Hoc committee to recommend a coherent strategy to increase staff communication and input to decision making.

Names were suggested for a formal committee on this matter and will be presented to Susan Mackey-Kallis.  The committee will continue this discussion at the next meeting.
